At 99% pure with very few residual impurities, 24K gold is officially pure gold. In truth, pure gold is not often used for gold leaf. In contrast, Gold leaf used for crafts, is a 98% alloy with silver. (It is good to remember that there is nothing like gold.) The silver is included because it is very difficult to successfully apply pure gold leaf. To apply it skillfully requires craftsmanship acquired only after many years of experience. And the cost is high because it is pure gold. However, our company has worked with pure gold from start to finish. We've vanquished all the difficulties to finally achieve mastery. (Gold leaf is applied through a collaborative effort.) House signs worked on only by people who understand and can work with the real materials. 24K gold leaf is covered with a clear coating. Please affix your house signs where it will not be exposed to rain or wind. The gold leaf will last for a few years even if it is somewhat exposed to the elements, but we recommend you affix it in a protected place if you are concerned about durability. In the event the gold leaf peels away, we provide after-sales service. Although we do charge a fee, we can replace the gold leaf so it is just like new. Please feel confident that your house signs will last many years.
