やわらかい優雅な光沢をはなつオパールは同時に美しい虹色の煌きをだします。その名は、「宝石」を意味するインドの言葉に由来します。古代ローマ時代には幸福を招く宝石として信じられていました。乳白色のホワイト、色の濃いブラック、そしてメキシコで産出されるメキシコ・オパールがあります。神秘的な虹色の遊色効果のあるものほど価値があります。
