hugall | Our Philosophy on Re-use

To deliver every object,
to a place where they will be hugged again.

Every object is full of thoughts and feelings.
The thoughts of the creator who developed
the object with hopes to better the world, however little.
The pride of the craftsmen committing to quality and never compromising.
That skip of the heartbeat when you encounter an object by chance,
fall in love with it at first sight, and purchase it impulsively.
The affectionate feeling towards the time you spent with the object.
Every object is full of such feelings.

We can’t create these objects.
However, we can intermediate these feelings stored in the objects.

By delivering as many objects as possible
to the next owner without throwing them away,
we hope to change the society and the world to a better place.

wearehugall

Hello, we are hugall.

Towards a world where it is ordinary to reuse every object.
Without giving much thought,
we started running towards realize this goal.

It must seem rather irresponsible for a company to
“start running without giving much thought.”
Maybe, but we thought that if we don’t force ourselves, nothing would begin.
The name of our company, hugall expresses our company’s mission,
which is to accept all objects no longer in use and
deliver them to the new owner who will once again hug the object.
It also means our challenge to realize an epic dream no one was able to before.
Here, we have written about the things we have been thinking about,
what we are doing now, and what we want to realize in the future,if not now.
Please get to know us, hugall.

How would the world change if re-use
becomes the common practice?

If re-use becomes common for everyone,
the world would change tremendously.
Let’s imagine together,
リabout the not so far future when re-use has become an ordinary practice.

Less waste in the world?

If “selling” becomes the standard rather than “throwing away,” we will be able to reduce waste all over the world.

Make it easier to buy designer goods?

Designer goods are not easy to get your hands on as brand new products.

People taking better care of things?

The purchased items are your belongings, but also something that you will be selling in the future.Such awareness will make it ordinary for people to take better care of things.

Making the world a happier place through re-use

Re-use is about not throwing away the things that can still be used,
and delivering them to the next owner to keep them alive.
Some might be concerned that this would hinder consumption.
However, we think it’s the opposite.
The age of mass production and mass consumption has ended long time ago. We believe that a new, more active,
less wasteful style of living that sees re-use as a precondition will be the standard from now on.

Sellers will get a chance to make new purchases.

If it becomes a common practice to immediately sell things once you don’t use them anymore, you will always be able to keep the storage space or your house tidy.
The money you earned by selling can be used for your next purchase.
The new consumption cycle, “purchase-own-sell ...” is much more practical than the old cycle, “purchase-own-dispose ...”

Those who purchase will get the chance to try many possibilities.

You’ve always been interested about the product, but never really been able to get your hands on it brand new? Re-use items are reasonable, and just the solution for such situations.
If there are more choices to purchase them as re-use items, you will have the chance to own so many kinds of items.
The pleasures of shopping will expand.

Many more items will meet their new owner.

Many items you have tucked away in the corners of your house, thinking, “I will use that some day.” Don’t you feel a little bit sorry for them? They may be things that you don’t use anymore, but there will be people who want them. Rather than being tucked away, these items would be much happier to be cherished by their new owners through re-use.

What you no longer need maybe something desired by someone else.

We are not hug “all” yet

To realize a world where it is common to reuse every item.

hugall was established in April 2013 by members
that sympathize with this philosophy.

Every day is trial and error for us but unfortunately at the present,
our sales channel is still under development, and we don’t have the power yet to accept all items.
Yes, so it is not “hugall” for us yet.
But one step at a time, we are determined to realize this some day.
Towards a happier world for objects and people,
where it is ordinary to reuse everything.
Please watch over us, kindly, yet with severity,
as we commit ourselves to realizing this ideal.

You can sell us anything. We'll find a new home for it.
