「コリ」のメカニズムは、まず筋肉が「緊張」し「筋肉疲労」を起こします。「緊張」した筋肉は収縮を繰り返し硬くなります。そして筋肉内の血管を圧迫し、血行を悪くするのです。

すると、血液流量が低下し筋肉が酸欠状態になってしまいます。そこに乳酸などの「発痛物質」が現れ、筋肉内の神経を刺激し始めます。その時におこる痛みこそが「肩コリ」や「腰のコリ」なのです。これをこのまま放っておくと、痛みによりさらに筋肉が緊張し「コリ」の悪循環に陥ってしまいます。
